SALEM, Ore. -- Salem police are searching for a man who held up a Subway restaurant in Salem on Sunday night.The robbery occurred near Interstate 5 and Market Street just after 5 p.m.The employee working behind the counter at Subway said the man walked up to her and told her he had a gun in his pocket.The clerk said she handed over all the money in the cash register and the man ran out.There was another customer inside the sandwich shop at the time. The Subway employee said the customer didn't realize the restaurant had been robbed."He didn't even know what was going on -- didn't hear anything until after the guy left and I told him we had gotten robbed," said the Subway employee, who did not want to be identified. "He just looked at me like, whatever, and started eating his food again."Police describe the robber as white, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds. He had brown hair.The employee said the robber wore a navy blue hooded sweatshirt over a long gray T-shirt. She also said he wore a black baseball hat with white lettering, black nylon gym pants and white shoes.Police searched the area for the man, but were unable to find him Sunday evening.
