HOOD RIVER, Ore. -- Hood River County deputies are searching for a missing paddle boarder last seen Friday afternoon.

The missing 48-year-old man was first reported missing Friday at 1 p.m. when 911 dispatchers took a report of a paddle boarder missing on the Columbia River near Wells Island.

Authorities searched for the man until it turned dark Friday night, but he has not been found.

He is described as white and wearing white shorts with blue flowers on them. Friends and family released a photo of the missing man Saturday.
