Operation FALCON Rounds Up Fugitives"The goal of Operation FALCON is simple -- to make communities safer," Clark said. "Each time we wrap up a FALCON operation in any location, there are less dangerous individuals -- and fewer threats to the community -- than before we arrived there."In Oregon, the operation led to 199 arrests in the Portland area, 42 arrests in Lane County and 30 arrests in Jackson County, Clark said. The people arrested included 26 sex offenders and eight gang members. The task force also seized 11 guns, about a half kilogram of narcotics and $1,249."The results of combining resources and coordinating our efforts at the local, state and federal level are truly extraordinary. This year's Operation FALCON was a terrific success," U.S. Marshal Dennis Merrill said.Nationally, there were a total of 35,190 fugitives arrested during the operation.
