VANCOUVER, Wash. -- An 8-foot rocket was stolen from a Vancouver farm Sunday and the owner is offering a reward for information that leads to its return.
Lance McNamara and his family own GopherBoy Egg Farms on Northeast Ward Road in Vancouver. They said the rocket has been a fixture on their farm for nearly four years.
The rocket is made of recycled materials including a boiler tank and compressor motors. McNamara said the rocket was a landmark in the area and neighbors called his home "The Rocket House."
On Monday night, McNamara used a unique diagram to explain how his rocket was stolen.
"At 11:00 last night, two bad guys in a truck pulled up, put the rocket in the back of the truck," McNamara said. "The nose fell off and made a ping-ping-ping sound, which alerted my wife, who looked out the window and saw the thieves driving away … I'm not very happy."
McNamara said he's offering a reward of a dozen fresh eggs to whoever helps track down his rocket.Anyone willing to donate materials for a new rocket or who may have information on the whereabouts of the rocket is asked to contact GopherBoy Farms. For more information, visit their Web site.
