ST. HELENS, Ore. -- A 53-year-old Rainier man is facing multiple sex abuse and child pornography charges, deputies said.

Michael McCann was arrested Sept. 8 after deputies received a call accusing McCann of recording child pornography on his computer, said Columbia County Sheriff Jeffrey Dickerson in a news release.

He is charged with multiple counts of sex abuse, rape, sodomy and use of a child in a sex display.

Four of McCann's grandchildren who were living in the home were taken into protective custody, Dickerson said.

Investigators said two of McCann's accusers are his relatives. Court records suggest one of the victims is as young as 13.

According to court records, McCann was smoking marijuana with children under the age of 17. He is accused of having sex with two of them.

Sheriff's deputies are concerned he might have more alleged victims.

Family members said McCann has raised the children for five years in eastern Oregon near La Grand and Rainier.

McCann's bail is set at $730,000 and he will face a grand jury Sept. 21.
