A couple is facing drug charges and their daughter is in protective custody after officers found almost 100 pot plants inside their home, police said.

Police said they searched Tracy and Lesa Burns' home on Helton Street in Castle Rock on Monday and found 98 marijuana plants. Officers also found evidence of packaging and distribution in addition to thousands of dollars in high-end grow equipment.

The couple's 5-year-old daughter is in state custody, police said.

Tracy Burns is in Cowlitz County Jail and Lesa Burns posted bail. Police said they both face charges of manufacturing marijuana.

Neighbors said they were surprised to see the police raid.

Janice Mull, who has lived in the area for 30 years, didn't know what the Burnses did in their home but is glad police stepped in.

"I don't know what could happen. I've never been around anything like that. I don't know what it could have turned into over a period of time, so I'm glad it's over," Mull said.
