A newlywed couple said they found their house ransacked and their pets abused after returning from their wedding.

The Woodland couple, who don't want to be identified, said they returned home Saturday and found a backdoor window smashed, a dead cat on the front porch and their dogs injured.

One of the victims said the burglars rifled through closets, dressers, pantries and refrigerators. She said the thieves stole electronics, a sewing machine, brand-new generator, power washer and canned goods.

The victims said they believe they were targeted by someone who knew they would be at their wedding.

A neighbor said he's not usually concerned about crime but, after this burglary, he'll be more careful.

"I don't lock anything up. I guess I'm going to have to start locking everything up. Everybody watches out for one another. (It's) friendly country, but times are getting tough too," said Lloyd Harshberger.

Investigators said they don't have any suspects in the case.
