Two drivers accused of hitting a man in north Portland early Wednesday morning have been arrested on driving under the influence charges.

Police said they responded to a report of a bicyclist being hit at 2:26 a.m. near the intersection of North Willamette Boulevard and North Haven Street, which borders the campus of University of Portland. Officers found an injured man at the scene and paramedics rushed him to a hospital.

Kipp Crawford, 31, died at the hospital, police said.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, Crawford was already in the road when an Isuzu SUV and a Cadillac crashed into him. The driver of the SUV, 44-year-old Felisa Washington-Berry, and the driver of the Cadillac, 41-year-old Carlos McCall, both stayed at the scene, police said. Officers interviewed both of them, impounded their vehicles and arrested both of them on one count each of driving under the influence.

Portland police have asked anyone who spoke with Crawford on Tuesday to contact them at 503-823-2208.

Kenneth McConnell, who lives in the area, said he came upon the crumpled bike and crash scene early this morning.

"There's so much blood -- it looked like he was dead honestly," McConnell said. "I said a prayer for him. It's scary. The witness said two people hit him."
