PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police released the names Friday of three people, including a 4-year-old child, who were found dead at a southeast Portland home.Detectives said they believe 29-year-old Ceantwan Barr shot 28-year-old Tameka Medina and 4-year-old Ashawn Medina-Barr before shooting himself.Officers were called to the 1000 block of Southeast 123rd Avenue at 10 a.m. Thursday, said Detective Mary Wheat of the Portland Police Bureau. When officers arrived, Wheat said they found the three bodies inside the house.Barr and Medina were the parents of the child, police said.A handgun was recovered at the scene, Wheat said, and detectives believe it was the weapon used in the shootings.Police officers visited the house twice Wednesday night but did not have enough information to force entry. They also took a missing person report from a relative of Medina.Relatives and a landlord opened the home Thursday morning and found the bodies, said a man claiming to be a relative. The man said the couple had been together for years, but Medina recently moved out. He said the father feigned illness Wednesday to lure the Medina and his child to the house.Neighbors said the couple also has an 11-year-old daughter who was not home at the time of the incident."It just sad to know that the family is shot like that," said Casey Bannister. "(You) just never know what's going on or what can happen in your neighborhood. I don't know what else to say."Lynne Metz said she lives near the house where the bodies were discovered."I have no idea what would be wrong because it's been pretty quiet there, too," Metz said.A TriMet bus was brought in Thursday to give grieving family members shelter from the weather.
