PORTLAND, Ore. -- A landmark Portland restaurant is making a comeback.Forty-six years after Bob Farrell opened his original Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour on West Burnside Street, Farrell said he is going to once again open a restaurant in Portland.People can expect everything to be the same, from the base drum to the sirens and birthday singing to the giant zoo sundae."There was no place to take the kids where they'd have fun and you'd have fun. (The) only place like that was Disneyland, where everybody goes and has a good time and that's the way Farrell's was," he said. The restaurant's founder said he doesn’t have a solid timeline for the new Portland location, other than opening as soon as possible. There are more than 130 Farrell's restaurants across the country, including one that opened two weeks ago in Orange County, Calif.
