Wanted Felon Arrested Near Gaston

FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- A wanted felon who has been arrested more than 45 times was taken into custody once again Monday night.Washington County deputies were searching for 36-year-old Josh Nicholas on two outstanding warrants. He is believed to be linked to a stolen car that Cornelius police tried to stop early Monday morning. The car's driver took off and led authorities on a high-speed chase before driving into a field near Wren and Susbauer roads.Deputies set up a perimeter to search for the driver, but broke down the perimeter after several hours.At about 7:45 p.m. Monday, deputies tracked down Nicholas at a home on Southwest Garrish Road in a rural area outside Gaston. They arrested him and took him to the Washington County Jail.Three days earlier, sheriff's deputies announced a $1,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest and they warned Nicholas may resort to violence to avoid being taken into custody.Nicholas' past convictions include possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, assault, eluding police and escape. He was wanted in Douglas County on drug charges and in Washington County on a charge of failing to appear in court to face a stolen vehicle charge.
