ALBANY, Ore. -- A gun-wielding robber held up an assisted-living center Sunday and escaped with prescription pain medicine, police said.Albany police said the armed robber somehow gained entry to the Cambridge Terrace Assisted Living Center on 14th Avenue in the early-morning hours of Sunday. The gunman stuffed prescription pills into a duffel bag and ran out a side exit of the building. Officers responded and blocked off the quiet senior center but found no trace of the robber.Police said the senior living center had to reorder vital medication for its residents. The senior home is located next to a large apartment complex. Neighbors in Albany said crime has gone up, but Sunday's robbery is difficult to believe."It's horrible," said Lesley Kline, who lives in Albany. "I don't know what goes through people's minds when they do stuff like that."Albany police describe the robber as black, about 150 pounds and 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall. He held a silver handgun during the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call Albany police.
