The body of a 38-year-old man who was reported missing 10 days ago has been found near the Willamette River.

Portland police found Victor Bogan's body Sunday in the Columbia Slough under the Interstate overpass near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The medical examiner's office determined the cause of death was accidental drowning and did not find any signs of foul play, police said Monday.

Portland detectives said they believe a witness might have tried to help Bogan after spotting him in the water.

Police described that witness as a white man in his 40s with shoulder-length salt-and-pepper hair. The witness also had a moustache, a goatee and was riding a blue motorized scooter, officers said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Portland police.
