RAINIER, Ore. -- A man wanted on an attempted murder charge was taken into custody after a three-hour standoff at a Rainier mobile home park Thursday afternoon.A Tactical Negotiations Team was called in to help arrest 49-year-old Greg Wilson.Columbia County Sheriff Jeffrey Dickerson said Wilson initially refused to leave his home along Price Road, even though three other people came out of the home and confirmed he was still inside.Authorities then fired tear gas into the home and took Wilson into custody after a short struggle. The Tactical Negotiations Team is Washington County's version of a SWAT team. St. Helens police were also at the scene.Deputies said Wilson was wanted on charges of attempted murder with a firearm, assault with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. The attempted murder charge stems from a Nov. 28 shooting at the same mobile home park, the sheriff's office said.Investigators said Wilson and a juvenile were involved in the attempted murder of a 29-year-old St. Helens man who was shot but survived. The juvenile was taken into custody a few days after the shooting but Wilson remained at large.Joddie Brumwell, a friend of the suspect, said Wilson didn’t come out of the home because he was scared."(The) cops said, 'Greg Wilson, come out.' And we all thought we we're hearing things until they said it couple more times and me and his girlfriend came to the door they saw us and told us to raise our hands and come out," Brumwell said. The mobile home park where Wilson lives is known for the presence of guns and drugs, Dickerson said.Wilson was taken to the Columbia County Jail.
