The family of a Washougal man missing in Haiti said they learned Sunday night that his remains have been found.

Walt Ratterman had been missing since the devastating 7.0 earthquake hit the island in January. Searchers found his body in the rubble of the collapsed Hotel Montana.

Ratterman's family posted the following statement on his Facebook page:

"Dear friends and family, we were notified late last night that Walt’s remains have been identified, and he will be flown home soon. We will hold a memorial gathering for friends and family in the near future, and will be in touch with all of you with particulars. Thank you for your love, prayers and support; we look forward to speaking with each of you personally when we are able. Sincerely, Jeanne, Briana and Shane"

Ratterman was in Haiti on a humanitarian trip when the quake hit Jan. 12.
