BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The mayors of Beaverton and Chicago are feuding over which state is best for business. On Jan. 28, Mayor Richard Daley told the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper that he's recruiting Oregon's talent after voters approved tax hikes on businesses and high income earners.Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle, a Chicago native, published an editorial Sunday in the same newspaper in response to Daley's statement.Doyle said different states shouldn't try to steal business from each other. Rather, leaders should work together to bring back jobs that went overseas."Well, I was a little irritated that he was knocking us, knocking the state down and somebody had to speak back and a Chicagoan will always do that. I think I did it in a light-hearted way. The key is the jobs that have left the country," Doyle said.Doyle said he expects a response from Daley soon.
