PORTLAND, Ore. -- State police said the daughter of a woman who died when she was run over on Highway 26 was arrested on two outstanding warrants unrelated to the death investigation.Oregon State Police said 19-year-old Samantha Daniels, of southeast Portland, was taken into custody Wednesday evening when she met with detectives regarding her mother's death.Troopers said Daniels was wanted on two outstanding warrants: probation violation for a drug charge and failure to appear for a charge of second-degree theft. She was taken to the Clackamas County Jail.Daniels had been providing a fake name and, once her real identity was uncovered, troopers said they discovered the warrants.State police are continuing the investigation into the death of Daniels' mother, 52-year-old Bridget McGowan, who was found critically injured on Highway 26 near Rhododendron on Feb. 25.Prior to the incident, investigators said there was a verbal fight between the victim and Daniels, who was visiting with her 21-year-old boyfriend. The victim fell from the passenger side of the truck and was run over, according to state police.Later that night, a trooper stopped Daniels, who was driving a white pickup truck with a camper traveling west on Highway 26 near Sandy. Daniel's boyfriend was in the passenger seat. The couple cooperated with the investigation and no arrests were made at that time.
