MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Two men were arrested on probation violation charges after the Portland Bomb Squad was called to investigate suspicious items found in a Milwaukie home.A Clackamas County civil deputy was visiting the home, located in the 11000 block of Southeast 54th Place, at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday when he requested help from Milwaukie police.Officers found suspicious items inside, police said, and called the bomb squad to assist in the investigation. The squad tested several of the items, police said, and the investigation is on-going.About 10 neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution and nearby streets were blocked. Neighbors were allowed to return at 6:30 p.m.Two men inside the home were arrested on charges not related to the suspicious items, according to the Milwaukie Police Department.Officers said 28-year-old Ryan Williamson was arrested on a charge of violating probation for escaping custody and 20-year-old Geoffrey Williamson was arrested on a charge of violating probation for identity theft.Megan Austin lives nearby and was alarmed by the police activity."I’m completely shocked. I’ve lived here for 15 years almost (and have) never seen, heard anything like this," Austin said.Neighbors said the brothers were staying at the home with their father, who is a teacher at a local high school.Other neighbors said they have heard the brothers lighting off fireworks in the past."I know those kids have had trouble before so I think this should be the nail in the coffin and something needs to be done," said Nathan Ware, who lives nearby and was blocked from his home because of the police activity.
