PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Hillsboro man has been charged with murder in the death of naturopathic physician. The Washington County Sheriff's Office said deputies responding to a cemetery last Sunday found David Greenspan, of Portland, in his car with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.Investigators initially thought the 46-year-old took his own life, but later determined he had been killed after leaving to make a drug deal.Sgt. David Thompson said surveillance video from a McDonald's in North Plains showed the doctor with 32-year-old Brian Bement at about the same time when the killing is believed to have taken place.Thompson said Bement was scheduled to be booked into the county jail Friday. He also appeared in Washington County court on Friday afternoon on an unrelated weapons charge.Greenspan's colleagues at his Tigard office said off-camera that he was an extraordinary doctor who worked well with patients. The victim's friends also said Greenspan will be missed."David was deeply loved by many people as a teacher, as a clinician, as a community leader, as a professional leader. So, people are devastated to hear of his death," said David Schleich, of the National College of Natural Medicine.
