As part of the opening weekend for the movie "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," archaeologists with Portland State University and locals in the profession are hosting an "Archaeology is Here!" event to help promote the field of archaeology at select Lloyd Cinemas.

Joining in the excitement and dressing like archaeologists in the field, the professionals will have artifacts from the region and many tools of the trade for kids of all ages to view.

The event is scheduled to take place Thursday to Saturday, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at Lloyd Center Cinemas, 1510 NE Multnomah St., in Portland.

For more information, contact Virginia Butler, Department of Anthropology, 503-725-3303.
