She joined FOX 12 in August 2007.Julie began her on-air career as the solo anchor and producer for the one-hour morning show at KNBN NewsCenter1, the NBC affiliate in Rapid City, S.D. After six months on the morning desk, she became the main weekday evening female anchor, but not before spending eight weeks anchoring both. At KNBN, Julie interviewed more than 100 politicians, celebrities, best-selling authors, chefs, and NBC contributors via satellite. Julie also spent time in the field as a one-man-band reporter. She especially enjoyed covering politics, wildfires, extreme weather, the South Dakota National Guard’s annual Joint Thunder Training and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.Prior to KNBN, Julie worked in Los Angeles at TV Guide Channel as a Production Assistant for Watch This!, an hour-long entertainment show hosted by John Henson. At TV Guide, Julie was often seen in skits on the show and also worked the red carpet for the American Idol finale.Julie was born and raised in Lake Oswego, Ore. After graduating from Jesuit High School, she attended Georgetown University on a volleyball scholarship and was an active leader in the student body. Julie hosted several news programs at Georgetown University Television (GUTV), served on GUTV's Board of Directors and spent her senior year as General Manager of the station. She also chaired GUTV's Student Film Festival for two years.During her junior year of college, Julie interned at the NBC News Washington, D.C. Bureau with Lisa Myers and the Investigative Unit. The following summer she moved to Manhattan to intern for Shepard Smith's two shows: Studio B and The Fox Report. With Fox, she had the opportunity to spend time at the United Nations as well as work the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.When not working, Julie enjoys traveling, practicing Bikram Yoga and speaking French. In 2001, Julie and her father climbed Mount Rainier in Washington, and in 2004 they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa.
