Brent Weisberg joined the Fox 12 Oregon team in September 2008. Brent is originally from Minneapolis, Minn., and was an intern at Northwest Community Television/Channel 12 for three years. He worked as a freelance reporter for the station before coming to Fox 12 Oregon. While in Minnesota, Brent helped cover one of Minnesota’s worst disasters, the collapse of the Interstate 35-W bridge. This is Brent’s first time living in Oregon, but he’s not unfamiliar with the Pacific Northwest, having graduated from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University. He also has family living in Seattle, Wash. He’s excited to call the Rose City his new home.In May 2008, Brent was honored to be nominated for two collegiate-level Emmys and won an Emmy for his story about collecting bicycles to give to refugees in Africa. In his spare time, Brent enjoys running and skiing. He can’t wait to visit Mt. Hood for the first time. Brent is always looking for new things to do -- be it new restaurants to try, new running trails to explore and everything in between -- he’d love to hear why you love Portland. So if you have any suggestions, or story ideas, feel free to e-mail him.
