Shauna teams up with Wayne Garcia to anchor the Emmy award winning "The 10 O'Clock News" weeknights on FOX 12. The newscast was recently honored as the top-rated prime-time newscast in the country.

When opportunity came knocking back in 2000, Shauna jumped at the chance to work in Portland. One stroll through the city, one drive to the coast, and she and her husband were sold.

Shauna said it's her mother's fault she chose a career in broadcasting. As one of the first families in her town to own a video camera, she said her mom dragged it everywhere, and Shauna was usually the one chosen to narrate the various family events on tape.

All those play-by-plays of family reunions, holidays and vacations prepared her for a life in broadcast journalism.

Her career began in Utah, where she produced and anchored a daily newscast on her college radio station. She also anchored a daily newscast on her college television station. After that, an internship at Fox 13 in Salt Lake City brought her the opportunity to learn the business quickly. She began as a part-time reporter, then full-time before becoming the weekend anchor and then launching the station's first morning newscast.

Shauna has received several awards for her reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Utah Broadcasters Association, and was also nominated for an Emmy award for a story on animal euthanasia.

Shauna enjoys volunteering for several different agencies around Oregon, and on many weekends you can find her serving as the masters of ceremonies at various events around town.

Shauna and her husband Ivan have two young children, Jackson and Everette. They are thrilled to call Portland home.
