Oddsmakers have made Big Brown the favorite to win Saturday's Kentucky Derby.

List: Kentucky Derby Odds

Big Brown, who is unbeaten in three career starts, was made the 3-1 favorite. He will start the race from the far outside No. 20 post. The only Derby winner to leave from the No. 20 post was Clyde Van Dusen in 1929.

The last Derby winner with just three previous career starts was the filly Regret in 1915; and only two winners in the past 60 years have overcome having two 3-year-old preps, Sunny's Halo in 1983 and Street Sense last year.

Big Brown will be ridden by two-time Derby winner Kent Desormeaux

Colonel John was 4-1 and Pyro was 6-1. Colonel John, who is trained by Eoin Harty, will start from the No. 10 gate while Pyro, which is trained by Steve Asmussen, will start from the No. 9 position.

Eight Belles, the lone filly in the field, was at 20-1 odds after drawing the No. 5 post. She has never race against colts before. Only three fillies have ever won the Derby; the last was Winning Colors in 1988. None has run in the race since 1999.

The biggest long-shot to win Saturday's race was Big Truck at 50-1.
