Mavs Trade 22nd Pick For 24th And 56th In '09 Draft

Dallas, TX -- (Sports Network) - The Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday traded the 22nd pick in the 2009 NBA Draft to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for the 24th pick and the 56th pick.

The Mavs will also get the lesser of Portland's second round picks in the 2010 draft.

"The depth of the second tier in this year's draft has given us the opportunity to trade down, pick up two second round picks and not lose ground in terms of talent. This will give us added flexibility for the future," said president of basketball operations/general manager Donnie Nelson.
