Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy has been named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week for the fifth time in his career.

Roy helped the Blazers to a 4-0 record while averaging 27 points per game, 5 rebounds per game and 3.8 assists per game last week. Portland defeated Sacramento twice, as well as Toronto and Golden State.

The Blazers are currently fourth in the Western Conference's Northwest Division. If the NBA Playoffs were to begin today, they would face the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.

Former guard Clyde Drexler is the only other Trail Blazer to have been named player of the week five times.

Other nominees for the Western Conference player of the week award were Houston's Luis Scola, Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire and San Antonio's Manu Ginobili.

Milwaukee's Andrew Bogut was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
