Reporter David Wilson is proud of his Native Oregonian heritage. His ancestors immigrated to the Willamette Valley more than 150 years ago. He grew up fishing for salmon on the Columbia River and still loves to catch spring and fall Chinnook.

A musician, fly fisherman and writer, David has spent time as a truck driver, bartender, waiter and store clerk before graduating from The University of Oregon in 1992.

He's spent the past 16 years working as a television news reporter, nine of those at Portland's KPTV FOX 12. With the help of some amazing photographers, he's managed to win several awards from The Associated Press, Best of the West and NATAS Emmy.

His favorite thing about working in television news is the opportunities to meet new people every day and help tell their stories.
