Drew Jackson is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and can be seen weeknights on FOX 12 and PDX-TV. Drew joined KPTV in May 2004 after working as a meteorologist at WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, and at KNDU-TV in the Tri-Cities, Washington.

A Portland native and graduate of Beaverton’s Sunset High School, Drew brings to KPTV a unique local understanding of Northwest weather. Always interested in when it might snow, Drew would stay up late as a kid waiting to hear the latest snow-day outlook from former Portland television meteorologists Jim Little, Jim Bosley and Jack Capell.

Drew attended college at Penn State University – a school with one of the nation’s leading meteorology programs. He enjoyed learning about the weather so much that, after earning a meteorology degree in 1998, he continued his weather education and received a Master’s degree in 2000.

As a Penn State student, Drew was also a member of the university’s Swimming and Diving Team. A scholarship diver often ranked among the top 20 in the country, Drew is still the only diver in Penn State history to be a four-year competitor at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. While no longer an athlete, Drew remains involved by volunteering with the Tualatin Hills Dive Club in Beaverton as a coach and administrator.

In his free time, Drew likes to ski, golf, wakeboard, work-out at the gym, and watch college football (especially his Penn State Nittany Lions).
