A much-beloved sign that has graced Portlands city scape for the last 63 years is undergoing a face-lift.
For the past several years, it was known as the Made In Oregon sign, located near the west end of the Burnside Bridge in Old Town. Before that title, it was the White Stag."
Last September, a representative of Ramsay Signs said his company donated the marquee to the city.
With the title to the property finally changed, crews began the process of once again changing the name of the sign.
Early this morning, the words Made In came off the sign. They will soon be replaced by Portland."
By the end of the week, workers say, the sign should read Portland Oregon.
And as in previous holiday seasons, the deer's nose will once again glow red.
