Looks can be a big part of being a beauty queen, but not always.
The reigning Miss Oregon Teen will shave her head to help raise money for childrens cancer research.
Brittany Thomas, 19, lost her best friend to leukemia in second grade and she says the loss is what motivated her to shave her head for the St. Baldricks Foundation.
This Saturday, Thomas will lose her locks at the U.S. Bank Plaza in McMinnville.
The other National American Miss title-holders from Oregon will attend the event to support Thomas.
She and almost three dozen other participants hope to raise $10,000 dollars for the foundation.
