Judge continues custody hearing Tuesday in Vancouver child cage case

Posted: Updated:

A Clark County judge will continue custody hearings Tuesday morning for two autistic boys who police say were locked in a caged room by their father.

John Eckhart and his girlfriend Alayna Higdon are awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to charges of unlawful imprisonment. Vancouver police say they found the children, a five and seven year old, locked behind a "cage-like" door April 12.

Meanwhile, who should care for the brothers has been up in the air. Their biological mother, Jona Bronson, who lives in Tillamook wants to care for her own children again.
