Laura Rillos joined the FOX 12 Oregon team in 2011.
Before coming to Portland, Laura was a reporter and anchor for KVAL, the CBS affiliate in Eugene. She was also a reporter and anchor at KSWT, the CBS affiliate in her hometown of Yuma, Ariz.
Laura earned her journalism degree at the University of Arizona. While in Tucson, she interned for the city's NBC affiliate and anchored the journalism department's newsmagazine, which aired on the local PBS station.
Her career highlights include skydiving with the U.S. Army's Golden Knights, touring smuggling routes along the U.S.-Mexico border and visiting Oregon National Guard soldiers training in Idaho to deploy to Iraq. Laura also loves telling the stories of regular people who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances.
Laura has earned Oregon Associated Press awards for her investigative reporting, feature stories and breaking news coverage. She was also nominated for an APTRA award for live reporting.
When she's not working, Laura spends time with her husband, Cameron, and their cats, Crash and Nuke. She loves running and has completed a marathon and half-marathons in Oregon and California.
