FLORENCE, OR (KPTV) -

Florence police have arrested two men in connection with a burglary at a home on 24th Street.

Police say they were called to the residence July 20.

The couple who lived there had been out of state for almost three weeks on family business and when they returned home, they found that someone had broken into their home and stole multiple personal items, according to police.

Police say that the home was completely ransacked and the stolen items included several firearms, TV's, jewelry and one of the family's cars.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and were able to get information that ultimately led them to two residences in Florence where they recovered a large amount of stolen property and some firearms.

The stolen vehicle was later found at the North Jetty parking lot just outside of Florence.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with this case.

George Reagan McKenzie, 21, of Florence, was arrested on a felony warrant for driving While suspended in addition to burglary I, aggravated theft I, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft of a firearm (13 counts), felon in possession of a firearm (13 Counts), criminal mischief II and trespass I.

George Woodworth, 20, of Florence, was arrested on burglary I, aggravated theft I, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft of a firearm (13 counts), criminal mischief II and trespass I.

Police say it appears the recovered stolen property may be from other burglaries that have occurred in the unincorporated area around Florence.

Oregon State Police and the Lane County Sheriff's Office have been notified as this investigation continues.
