HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

A man has been taken into custody in connection with a stabbing that seriously injured a woman.

Hillsboro police say the man and woman, who share a home in the 1600 block of Southeast Walnut Street, got into a fight Friday evening.

Julio Aguilar Perez, 47, was intoxicated and stabbed the 30-year-old woman in the chest, neck and abdomen, according to police.

Officers say the suspect fled on foot after a neighbor called 911.

The woman was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Her condition isn't known.

Police say Perez was found hiding behind a shrub in a park across the street.

Officers say they shocked Perez with a Taser when he didn't follow officers' commands.

He was taken to the Washington County Jail on a charge of attempted murder.

The incident is being investigated as a possible domestic violence crime, police say.
