Law enforcement officers came armed with a backhoe and crane to get a group of protesters down from trees.
Police say three people set up platforms on trees as high as 90 feet at the Elliott State Forest in Coos County.
They were protesting a timber sale.
Officers brought in heavy equipment to clear manmade roadblocks leading to the protesters.
Deputies with special training in high-angle rope rescues helped secure one of the platforms. A crane was then brought in to reach the suspects.
Police say the trio actually climbed higher in their trees before finally surrendering.
Three people were arrested. They are:
- Grace Pettygrove, 23, of Eugene
- Emmalynn Lorraine Garrett, 26, of Bandon
- Robert Oliver, 18, of Seattle
