SALEM, OR (KPTV) -
Timothy Davis told a judge he's not guilty of shooting and killing his mom's live-in boyfriend.
A Marion County grand jury indicted Davis on July 27 on charges of murder with a firearm and assault in the second degree with a firearm.
On July 22 Salem police arrested Davis after they found him and a handgun at the scene where Albert Hopkins was shot and killed. They say Davis did not resist arrest.
Police say Hopkins had just returned from a business trip when they believe Davis opened fire and shot Hopkins several times. Police have not said if they know what motivated the violence.
