Dan Sheldon heads up KPTV sports as the anchor of Oregon Sports Final, the Timbers pre- and post-match shows and Friday Night Lights.
In a career that has taken him from coast to coast, Portland provides a unique, yet somewhat familiar landing spot.
Having spent four years at the CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City, Dan knows the responsibilities associated with covering: an NBA team with a rabid fan base, a major college rivalry, and a young MLS franchise.
Dan grew up in the bustling metropolis of Satellite Beach, Fla., and attended the University of Florida on a National Merit Scholarship.
After graduation, he moved four hours west to Panama City to work at the ABC affiliate and enjoy his unofficial fifth and sixth years of college.
Then he remained in the Sunshine State for 3 more years at the NBC affiliate in Fort Myers before extended hurricane coverage forced him to evacuate to the West.
In addition to his responsibilities at FOX 12, he also enjoys indoctrinating an unsuspecting radio audience into his way of thinking whenever given the opportunity.
Dan has won several awards for his sports reporting over the years and considers storytelling the most rewarding part of the job.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys attempting to stay in shape, attempting to avoid the late-night food carts and writing about himself in the third person.
