NBA lockout worries Portland business owners

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The NBA lockout remains in effect, and that's proving to be worrisome for some business owners in Portland who depend on revenue from fans on game days.

The owner of Spirit of '77, a sports bar located near the Rose Garden, told Fox 12 that game day fans are critical for his bottom line.

"It's a huge portion of our revenue source," Tim Davey said. "We get really great crowds for both home and away games; home games in particular."

If the NBA season is delayed or canceled, Rose Garden ticket sellers, vendors and parking attendants could lose their jobs.

According to the Portland Tribune, the City of Portland would also lose its 6 percent interest in ticket and parking revenue from Trail Blazers games.
