A teen's legacy lives on.
A local foundation donated thousands of dollars to help the Evergreen School District purchase more Automatic External Defibrillators.
The Driscoll Foundation was set up in honor of Quinn Driscoll who died two years ago while running track at a Vancouver School.
Two years later on the same track that Quinn died on, his name lives on and his legacy is not forgotten.
On Thursday afternoon, just after football practice wrapped up, the Quinn Driscoll Foundation presented a check in the amount of $7,500 to the Evergreen School District so it can buy five more AED's.
"We wanted to make sure his legacy did live on in that a death wasn't looked at as a tragedy but an opportunity to help our community," said Scott Driscoll, Quinn's father.
The district says each school already has an AED on campus, but this money will help buy an extra one for each school, making them easily accessible on campus.
"We can make sure to have more of them in our buildings especially some of our larger ones where there is a greater distance between the AED and where the incident may occur," said Scott Deutsch, the Risk and Safety Manager for Evergreen School District.
Quinn was a member of the Wy'East football team and on Thursday his parents honored him by placing stickers on each of the player's helmets.
It was has Quinn's name and the number he used to wear on the team.
The Driscoll Foundation also working to sponsor advance health screenings for student athletes.
The next "Young Champions" screening is set for October 8th at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
It will provide advance heart screenings for student athletes in the Clark County area.
