Three get away with home invasion robbery

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police are looking for three masked suspects who committed a home invasion armed robbery on Northeast 102nd Avenue on Monday night.

Officers arrived just before 10 p.m., but the three victims told them the gunmen had gotten away.

Police say the husband and wife at the house were not seriously injured but needed hospital treatment.

A police lieutenant says the couple's 34-year-old son was not hurt, but one of the suspects may have been injured in the robbery.

"I've lived here since 1995," said neighbor K.C. Khamsouk.  "This never happens."

Khamsouk says he's acquainted with the couple living in the house,  but he does not know about their lifestyle.

Portland police spent the night at the scene of the robbery, trying to understand how three masked suspects, waving handguns, forced their way in.

A lieutenant says detectives are questioning the couple and their son. But police have not released suspect descriptions nor said what was stolen.

Neighbors want to know more about who barged into the house and why.

One is worried about her children who catch the bus to school in front of the crime scene.

"I'm glad it was not my house that was targeted," said neighbor Natasha Howard. "But I'm terrified because my kids leave when it's still dark when they go to school now. I have to worry about their safety around here."

There is compassion for the family whose home was invaded.

"Nobody deserves this," Khamsouk said.  "Nobody deserves this."
