Drive-by shooting in NE Portland gang related, police say

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A late night drive-by shooting in Northeast Portland was likely gang related, police said.

The Gang Enforcement Team responded to the reports of shots fired in the around of Northeast 42nd Avenue and Northeast Alberta at 10:52 p.m. Saturday.

Officers arrived and talked with a man who said he was driving north on 42nd Avenue passing Alberta Street when another car pulled along side him and someone fired several shots.

The victim pulled into the parking lot of a local bar and the suspect vehicle left, Sgt. Pete Simpson said.

The victim was not wounded, but his car was struck several times by bullets, police said.

Detectives do not have any suspect information and no arrests have been made.

Officers said the shooting does not appear to be related to another shooting that happened earlier Saturday night in North Portland.

Anyone with information on the drive-by shooting is asked to call Detective Brad Clifton at (503) 823-2087 or brad.clifton@portlandoregon.gov
