Timbers prep for regular-season home finale

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Timbers will be fighting for a possible playoff spot when they take on the Houston Dynamo in their final regular-season home game tonight.

The Timbers trail the Dynamos by three points in the race for the 10th and final MLS playoff spot, making tonight's match-up at Jeld-Wen Field critical for the Timbers' playoff aspirations.

Portland is unbeaten in its last six home games, with a record of 4-0-2 in that time period. Houston beat the Timbers 2-1 the last time the two teams played.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m., and tonight is Fan Appreciation Night. According to the Timbers front office, the first 5,000 fans will receive stadium replicas, courtesy of Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors.
