CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -

A new report says Oregon is one of the most expensive states for child care.

The National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies lists Oregon as the seventh most expensive state for child care. A report from Oregon State University says the average annual cost of toddler care in a child care center is $10,392. That's about $4,000 more than the average cost of a year of college.

The report says the cost of child care in Oregon rose 7 percent more than family incomes between 2004 and 2010. The numbers are even worse for single parents, with child care prices increasing 14 percent more than their incomes during the same period.
