Police: Man rented Bend motel room to sell meth

Posted: Updated:
BEND, OR (KPTV) -

A traffic stop led Bend police to a motel room rented for the sole purpose of selling methamphetamine, authorities say.

On Thursday, an officer stopped a car for a basic traffic violation at the intersection of Northeast Studio and Butler Market roads.

During the stop, a K-9 alerted officers to drugs inside the car, police say.

Officers questioned the passenger, 31-year-old Gustavo Perez Pena, and say they learned he rented a motel room in the Bend area just to sell meth out of it.

Officers headed to the room and say they found meth ready for sale. They also found meth on Pena during a search, according to police.

Pena faces three drug-related charges.
