Police investigate Tualatin stabbing

The stabbing of a 21-year-old man in Tualatin last Friday was the result of an altercation among family members, according to the Tualatin Police Department.

Detectives said the stabbing happened at 11:14 p.m. at 18540 SW Boones Ferry Road, and resulted in the arrest of the victim's uncle.

Ramiro Alcantar Vega , 54, is charged with First Degree Assault, Menacing, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, investigators said.  

Officers said they found the victim, Eric Alcantar Vega with a knife wound to the chest.  According to detectives, Vega was stabbed with a box knife and was transported to OHSU.  The extent of his injuries is unknown, police said.

Detectives said alcohol was a factor during the incident.
