Bird flies into power line, causing Portland outage

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

About 3,400 Pacific Power and Light customers in Portland went without electricity for several hours Monday after a bird flew into a power line.

The affected area centered in the 97211 and 97217 area codes.

The outage was reported Monday afternoon and power was restored by about 9 p.m.

The power loss affected classes and events at PCC - Cascade Campus.

All evening classes and activities were canceled. However, shuttle service to and from the school continued as scheduled.
