Portland Marathon helps repair parks damaged by protests

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Thanks to the organizers of the Portland Marathon, two downtown parks damaged by Occupy Portland protests are on the mend.

Organizers of the marathon are making a $4,000 donation that will be used to help restore Chapman and Lownsdale Squares.

Both sites are adjacent to the marathon's start and finish,and they are key locations for Portland Marathon activities.

The city's parks department estimates that Occupy Portland caused about $85,000 in damage.
