Man gets life sentence in Coos County slaying

COOS BAY, OR (AP) -

A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for what Coos County prosecutors said was a killing related to methamphetamine trafficking.

The World in Coos Bay reported that Thomas Allen Gunn was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to aggravated murder. He must serve a minimum of 30 years.

He and two others were accused in the killing of Ronald Holliday, whose body was found in April at a wooded pullout.

The paper reported Holliday was hit seven times by shots from two weapons.

The prosecution said one suspect, Angel Yvonne Kirk-Miles, sent Gunn and Jeffrey Cue to collect money from Holliday.

Cue was previously sentenced to 25 years on a murder count, Kirk-Miles to 15 on conspiracy counts.
