PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The man who used a hammer to attack a Wal-Mart shopper will now spend nearly six years behind bars.
A judge sentenced Jonathan Jones on assault charges today. He'll spend 5 years and 10 months behind bars and will have to be supervised for three years once he gets out.
Jones hit Harry Anderson in the forehead with a hammer at the Wal-Mart on Southeast 82nd Avenue in June 2011. Anderson told police other shoppers came to his rescue and that he didn't know why he was attacked.
