An 18-year-old Estacada woman was killed Sunday night when her car crashed into a power pole, deputies say.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says the wreck happened around 8:40 p.m. on Currin Road near Duus Road in Estacada.
Deputies say Katie May Kammeyer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her car failed to make a turn, crossed into the oncoming lane, slid into a ditch and then hit the pole, according to deputies.
Investigators say the area was foggy at the time and speed may have contributed to the crash. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out.
The crash knocked out power to about 68 PGE customers in the area.
The road was closed for several hours while a PGE crew repaired the pole and worked to restore electricity.
